Flip-up frames and roller covers use motors and hinges. ECLIPSE has no moving parts at all.

Is this legal to use on the road?
Almost certainly not. Covering or obscuring a licence plate is illegal on public roads in most states, provinces and countries. ECLIPSE is sold for private property, track days, shows, photography and off-road use. Check the rules that apply where you are before buying.
How does the film actually work?
It is electrochromic film — the same technology used in luxury car privacy glass and smart windows. A small voltage changes how the particles in the film align, so it flips between fully opaque and 83% clear. There are no shutters, motors or hinges.
How fast does it switch?
0.01ms, and it is completely silent. Motorised flip-up frames take two to four seconds and you can hear them work.
Will it survive rain and winter?
Yes. Every ECLIPSE is IP65 sealed against rain, snow, dust and heat, and the film is UV stable so it will not haze or yellow.
Do I need to cut or drill anything?
No. The cover mounts on your existing plate bolt holes with the included bracket, and power runs to a 12V socket — plug-and-play, no hardwiring and no permanent modification. Install takes about ten minutes.
Which size do I need?
US/CAN fits the standard 12" x 6" North American plate. EU fits the long 520mm x 110mm European plate. MOTO fits the 7" x 4" North American motorcycle plate.
How far does the remote reach?
Up to 50 metres. There is also an LED status indicator you mount inside the car so you always know which state the plate is in. MOTO kits add a handlebar switch as well.
What is covered by the warranty?
Two years on the film and the electronics. Returns are accepted within 30 days.
